Pythagorean Theorem
PYTHAGOREAN THEOREM A 2  + B 2   NOTE DIAGRAM BELOW: A 2  + B 2  = C 2 16 + 9 = 25    Alterations of Pythagorean Theorem     C 2  - B 2  = A 2     25 - 9  = 16     C 2  - A 2  = B 2     25 - 16 = 9 SEE THE RELATION !! In Carpentry they use what is called a 3,4,5 triangle (or  multiples of 3,4,5 i.e. 9,12,15) to produce right angles  accurately. If you construct a line 3 inches long and hinge  another line off of it that is 4 inches long and  then  connect the ends with a 5 inch line it will produce a right  angle triangle. This will help us to understand the  Pythagorean Theorem. (Theorem is a statement which requires  proof)
